This absolutely makes sense! Non-bottable active gameplay is generally a good thing! CCP knows the baseline PVE isn’t fantastic, so CCP took on the philosophy that active content (incursions, Abyssals, etc) takes more effort, and should pay out more. However, ever since Incursion, and I feel like even before then, CCP has been shifting this. The payoff is 20x your ship and definitely worth it, but you are also worth it to kill. For that blip of time as a vulnerable industrial, you are content for hunters. So, if you want to generate money off that, you bring an industrial into low, deploy command centers, update them over time, and bring that cargo out of low-sec into high for sale. But in low-sec, its significantly better, and in null sec its better still. Hi-Sec PI absolute garbage, productivity is terrible. To use a cringy analogy- To acquire the ships you needed to be an apex predator, you had to spend time as the prey.Ī very good example of this is PI. If you wanted cool stuff and to make more isk than a level 4 – you, your corp, and your alliance and risk assets. Hi-sec < Low Sec < Null Sec in terms of cash generation. The rats were better, the sites were more rewarding, missions had better payout, ore was better, etc. You wanted to earn lots of $$$, you went into riskier space. Old EVE operated on a very simple gameplay loop. I like fleeting up for incusions, but they throw off the core risk vs reward gameplay of EVE. I'm going to preface this with: I enjoy abyssals, they are fun.
